National Report Recognizes Bell County Woman for Success Attained with JobSight Assistance

The story of how an eastern Kentucky woman transcended age and crippling disability to find employment is featured in a national report released March 19 by Experience Works, one of the nation’s longest-standing senior-service agencies.

Carol Miller of Bell County appears on the cover of "The Power of Experience," the nationwide 2003 annual report of Experience Works. Carol received services through Experience Works and several other agencies through the Bell County JobSight one-stop workforce center in Pineville. Despite her age and the rheumatoid arthritis that has severely affected her hands, those services allowed Miller to become employed at the Clear Creek Baptist Bible College’s Child Care Development Center near Pineville.

Miller’s inclusion in the national report represents the first time a Kentucky Experience Works participant has been featured in the organization’s annual report since it was established in 1965. Her story is an example of how the inter-agency cooperation that drives the JobSight network can provide numerous services to meet a person’s needs through a single location.
