About

Job seekers—What are your problems?

Not sure what your strongest job skills are?
Don't know which jobs best fit your natural abilities?
Not sure how to write a resume, or how to get your resume in the hands of employers?

Maybe you should try JobFit.

JobFit will show you exactly what your skills and abilities are, and will pinpoint jobs that will be the best fit for you. By using JobFit, you will also construct a top-notch resume that can be viewed by employers both local and beyond.

Let us tell you more about JobFit ...

What is JobFit?

JobFit is an internet-based system designed to link job seekers with employers.

JobFit consists of two parts:

1.) Job seekers take an online survey designed to identify their thinking styles, behavioral patterns, and occupational interests.

2.) By assessing present employees, employers develop a job match pattern identifying the thinking styles, behavioral patterns, and occupational interests which best match the jobs they have available

JobFit then provides a way to match those job seekers who have taken the survey with the employers who have available jobs.

Where is the JobFit program available?

JobFit is available in all 23 east Kentucky counties that EKCEP serves.

Why should job seekers take the JobFit survey?
By taking the survey job seekers are putting themselves in direct contact with employers who will be hiring. Employers in the JobFit program have access to the JobFit survey results and can use them to match job seekers with available jobs. So, by taking one survey the job seeker can be seen by many employers.

Also, when taking the survey the job seeker will enter information which will generate a quality resume which can then be printed out or transmitted electronically to other potential employers.

Additionally, JobFit can be used as a job search tool all across the United States, rather than only in this area.

What is this survey? Is it really a test?
No, the survey is not a test like the kind you took in school. Most of the questions deal with likes and dislikes, interests, etc.

The purpose of the survey is to identify those relatively unchangeable things about us such as the way we think, the type of work environment we prefer, how sociable we are, and things like that.

The same survey is used for all job matches. So, the characteristics, which are best for one job, might be completely different from those that are best for another job. The goal is to match job seekers with the jobs that they naturally fit.

Why should an employer take part in this program?
Most employers know that good employees are one of a business’ greatest assets.

Employees who like what they do, and who fit their jobs will be more productive, more dependable, and more likely to stay on the job. They will also provide better customer service and cause less internal dissention.

All of this will have a positive effect on a business’ bottom line.

Is JobFit only worthwhile for large employers?
The employer benefits mentioned above apply to any business. When you think about it, a poor employee fit can proportionally hurt a small business much more than a large business.

Also, a hiring mistake made at a managerial level may well have a much greater negative impact on a business than the same mistake made in an entry level position.

JobFit is appropriate for both large and small businesses and for positions from entry level up to management.
