If you are coming from
Cincinnati, follow this route to get to Hazard, KY:
- Take Interstate 75 southward toward Lexington
and Knoxville.
- Stay on I-75 until you reach the first London,
KY, exit (Exit 41). Take
this exit and turn left at the end of the exit ramp. This road soon
turns
into the Hal Rogers (formerly Daniel Boone) Parkway, which takes you
past
Manchester and on to Hazard.
- As you near Hazard you will pass through two
traffic lights. Stay in the right lane
and take the Hazard/Jackson exit (Exit 59) immediately after the second
traffic light.
- At the traffic light at the end of the exit
ramp, turn right. This puts you on KY 15 heading toward Hazard.
- Continue to go straight on KY 15 through three
traffic lights.
- After the third traffic light, you will start
down a hill. Get into the left lane
as soon as possible. The downhill stretch turns into a sharp "buttonhook"
turn.
Stay in the left lane. There is a traffic light at the intersection
at the bottom of the hill.
- At the traffic light at the bottom of the hill,
turn left. You are now on North Main Street,
running parallel to the river.
- You will soon see basketball courts on your
right, along with a two-story
stone tower. At this point, Memorial Drive branches off of Main and
heads uphill to the left. The EKCEP Central Office is in the building
at thecorner of North Main and Memorial Dr., directly across Main from
the stone tower. (The building is a four-story, red brick building with
green awnings and shutters and some beige trim.)
- Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the
building, or in the lot across Memorial Dr.
behind the building) marked "Parking for Hazvest Building Only,"
or in the lot across
Main St. from the front of the building.
- Take the outdoor front steps up to the second-floor
lobby, then take the inside steps
up one flight to the EKCEP offices on the third floor.
Misc. Travel Details:
- London is approximately 152 miles from Cincinnati
via I-75.
- Hazard is approximately 60 miles east of London
via the Hal Rogers (formerly
Daniel Boone) Parkway. The Daniel Boone Parkway is a two-lanel road
with passing lanes
added on long uphill sections. The speed limit is 55 m.p.h.
