If you are coming from
Lexington, you have two possible routes to get to Hazard, KY:
Route I:
- Take Interstate 64 eastward until you pass both
Winchester exits.
- About 3 miles after the second Winchester exit,
take the Bert T. Combs
Mountain Parkway eastward. (The parkway begins at this interchange.)
- Take the Campton exit off of the Mountain Parkway.
This puts you on KY
15, which goes past Campton, through Jackson, under the Hal Rogers
(formerly Daniel Boone) Parkway interchange, and on to Hazard.
Route II:
- Take Interstate 75 southward toward Richmond
and Knoxville.
- Stay on I-75 until you reach the first London,
KY, exit (Exit 41). Take
this exit and turn left at the end of the exit ramp. This road soon
turns
into the Hal Rogers (formerly Daniel Boone) Parkway, which takes you
past
Manchester to Hazard.
- As you near Hazard you will pass through two
traffic lights. Stay in the right lane
and take the Hazard/Jackson exit (Exit 59) immediately after the second
traffic light.
- At the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp,
turn right. This puts you on KY 15
heading toward Hazard.
Directions to the EKCEP central office:
As described above, either Route I or II will
leave you on KY 15 headed
toward Hazard. After you have passed under (Route I) or exited from (Route
II) the Hal Rogers Parkway, follow these directions:
- After you pass the Parkway intersection, you
will continue to go straight
on KY 15 through three traffic lights.
- After the third traffic light, you will start
down a hill. Get into the left lane
as soon as possible. The downhill stretch turns into a sharp "buttonhook"
turn.
Stay in the left lane. There is a traffic light at the intersection
at the bottom of the hill.
- At the traffic light at the bottom of the hill,
turn left. You are now on North Main Street,
running parallel to the river.
- You will soon see basketball courts on your
right, along with
a two-story stone tower. At this point, Memorial Drive branches off
of Main and heads uphill to the left. The EKCEP Central Office is in
the building at the corner of North Main and Memorial Dr., directly
across Main from the stone tower. (The building
is a four-story, red brick building with green awnings and shutters
and some beige trim.)
- Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the
building, or in the lot across
Memorial Dr. (behind the building) marked "Parking for Hazvest
Building Only,"
or in the lot across Main St. from the front of the building.
- Take the outdoor front steps up to the second-floor
lobby, then take the inside steps
up one flight to the EKCEP offices on the third floor.
