EKCEP Board of Directors and EKWIB Name Becky Carnes-Miller as Next EKCEP Executive Director

The EKCEP Board of Directors and the Eastern Kentucky Workforce Innovation Board (EKWIB) have named Becky Carnes-Miller as the next executive director for Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program, Inc.

Becky Carnes-Miller was named the next executive director for EKCEP, Inc. during special-called meetings of the EKCEP Board of Directors and the EKWIB on Jan. 31.

Carnes-Miller’s background includes extensive experience in workforce, with more than 20 years at KCEOC Community Action Partnership, Inc.

“KCEOC has been a major part of my life for over 20 years. Thank you to KCEOC Board of Directors, my staff and colleagues for their personal and professional support that has provided me with a solid foundation to develop workforce programming and economic development projects,” she said. “Thank you to Paul Dole, KCEOC President/CEO, for your mentorship and for allowing me to grow professionally and take on challenges. I look forward to sharing my vision with the community members, partners, and staff of EKCEP. I believe in the mission of community action and will carry it with me as I lead EKCEP in preparing, advancing, and expanding the workforce of Eastern Kentucky.”

EKCEP is a nonprofit workforce development agency in Appalachian Kentucky that provides an array of career and employment services for eligible jobseekers and also helps area businesses meet training and staffing needs. As executive director, Carnes-Miller will oversee management of the day-to-day operations and guide the agency’s overall direction and mission within its 23-county service area.

Carnes-Miller will step into the leadership role at EKCEP effective March 1 as she replaces outgoing Executive Director Jeff Whitehead, who announced his retirement in December following 31 years in workforce development.

EKCEP operates the Kentucky Career Center JobSight network of workforce centers, which provide access to more than a dozen state and federal programs that offer employment and training assistance for job seekers and employers all under one roof.
